The Town of Mesilla has a Mayor/Council form of government. Policies are set by the Board of Trustees and administered by staff under the supervision of the Mayor.
The Board of Trustees consists of the elected officials of the Town of Mesilla, which are the Mayor, who chairs the meetings, and four Trustees. The Mayor and Trustees are elected at large and serve staggered four year terms.
